Sad and shocking for fans.
Popular VTuber Ironmouse recently faced a significant setback when her main YouTube channel was unexpectedly deleted. This occurred due to YouTube's policy linking her main channel to a previously deleted VOD channel, which had been removed after multiple copyright strikes. The incident was further complicated because Ironmouse chose not to dispute the copyright claims, as she did not want to submit personal information to the claimants, a step required by YouTube's system for such disputes.
Ironmouse, who started her VTubing career in 2017, is one of the most prominent figures in the VTuber community, particularly known for her content on Twitch, where she has amassed millions of followers. She became the first VTuber to win the Content Creator of the Year award at The Game Awards in 2022, highlighting her growing influence.
After the deletion of her VOD channel, Ironmouse expressed her confusion and frustration during a livestream. She revealed that her VOD channel was terminated due to multiple false copyright strikes and stated, "I don't really understand what's happening". Ironmouse mentioned that she was hesitant to dispute the claims because it would require sharing her personal information with unknown parties, saying, "I don't want to put my safety in danger". She also shared her sadness about the situation, stating, "I'm just going to accept that my channel's going to get deleted" and noted that she might cry about it later.
Ironmouse's main YouTube channel was terminated due to its connection with her VOD channel, which was previously taken offline on September 9. According to platform regulations, users are prohibited from circumventing a ban by uploading content to other channels, leading to the closure of her main channel as a result of this rule.
Her content primarily includes live streams where she interacts with her community, plays video games, and participates in collaborative events, like subathons, which have attracted massive viewership. Despite the channel's deletion, Ironmouse remains optimistic about resolving the issue, stating that she is working with a legal team to attempt to restore her account. The community has rallied behind her, criticizing YouTube’s handling of the situation.
