Host And Record Your First Podcast Using Yostream

A simple guide for you.

Podcasts have become an essential tool for individuals who want to educate and inform people by sharing their expertise and insights on specific topics. Podcasting also helps users build a community of like-minded people which can result in networking and partnership opportunities with content creators, influencers, and advertisers.

Once you select Yostream for your podcasting journey, the following step-to-step guide will help you navigate thoroughly.

Step 1.

Type yostream.io in your browser and press Enter.

Click ‘Get Started’ at the top-right corner.

Step 3.

You can continue using your Google or Facebook account. You can also use your preferred Email ID and click ‘Get Login Code’ at the bottom. In this guide, we’ll use an Email.

Step 4.

Check your inbox. You’ll receive a 6-digit login code from Yostream. Enter the code and click ‘Continue’ at the bottom.

Step 5.

You’ve now entered the dashboard of Yostream. Select the ‘Podcast Studio’.

Step 6.

You’ll see the following screen.

You can see the Microphone and Camera options are disabled by default. Click on both of them to give access. From the dropdown menus, you can select your desired microphone and camera. After that, select either of the options: I am not using Headphones or I am using Headphones. In the last, enter a username which will be displayed on your screen.

Only after completing all of these steps, you’ll be able to click ‘Join Room’ at the bottom.

After clicking ‘Join Room’ you’ll see the canvas screen:

Step 7.

Click ‘Invite Guests’ at the top-right corner.

Step 8.

Copy the link and send it to the guest(s).

Step 9.

After guest(s) have joined in, click the ‘Record’ button to start your podcast.

Once the recording starts, you’ll see a timer on the bottom left of your screen.

You can stop the recording by clicking the ‘Started’ button.

Your recorded file is saved as soon as you stop recording. To locate the recorded file location you need to go back to the home page and click 'Dashboard':

From the left panel in your dashboard, select 'Recordings'.

You can now see the recorded files:

You can leave the session by clicking the ‘Leave’ button. You’ll, however, get two options:

  1. Leave session: Only the host will exit. Guests can continue the conversation.
  2. End session for all: The podcast will end for the host and guests alike.
