Integrate LinkedIn with Yostream to grow your authority, increase brand awareness, and drive sales.
Excited about using LinkedIn Live to engage with your audience and promote your brand? Follow these steps to use LinkedIn Live with Yostream.
First go to LinkedIn and sign in to your account. Then open up LinkedIn’s streaming studio.
First, under New Stream select Go Live Now.
Then, under Create a post, select the profile or LinkedIn Page you want to stream to.
Then finally under Your stream details, add a Title for your stream.
In the Stream settings tab, pick your region. Not all regions have a dedicated source in the Region dropdown list. If you don’t see your region, you can still go live by selecting the region closest to you.
Click Get URL
This gives you your unique Stream URL and Stream Key, which you’ll use to connect your LinkedIn account with Yostream.
Now, head over to Yostream, go to Connect Accounts page and then click Custom Destination.
Now, add the copied Stream URL and Stream Key and give the destination a meaningful name.
Now head over to dashboard and click Start with Studio.
Choose your mic and camera inputs, and provide a username. Only then you'll be able to click Join Room.
After entering the Yostream Studio, click Go Live. You can see, the LinkedIn account has been successfully connected via Custom RTMP. Select the square box of LinkedIn. Click Start Broadcast to start streaming on LinkedIn.
Now head back over to the LinkedIn tab. Your video will appear in the Preview section on LinkedIn. Check to make sure your video and audio are coming in ok.
Once you've confirmed everything looks good, make sure to mute your LinkedIn tab. This is to prevent echo from occurring when audio from your preview feed on LinkedIn gets picked up by your mic and sent back into Yostream. Right-click on the LinkedIn tab, then click Mute tab or Mute site.
You can then click Go live on LinkedIn, to begin streaming!
Once your live stream is finished, click End stream on LinkedIn and End Broadcast in Yostream.
Will LinkedIn be integrated with Yostream?
Yes, we are currently working to integrate LinkedIn with Yostream, after which you will be able to go live instantaneously or schedule a live event directly from Yostream.
Will I be able to see LinkedIn comments in Yostream while streaming?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to see comments inside your Yostream studio when using LinkedIn Live. You would need to keep the LinkedIn Live Studio window open to view comments. After we integrate LinkedIn with Yostream, you'll be able to see LinkedIn Live comments directly in Yostream Studio.
Will my followers be notified that I am live if I am streaming to LinkedIn from Yostream?
When you go live, notifications are not sent to followers of your page, only to attendees of your scheduled live event. So if you chose Go Live Now under New Stream section, no notifications will be sent.
Instead you should create a Live Event. Then, when you are ready to go live, navigate to manage events page. Find your stream on this page and click Prepare to go live (this option is available one hour before your scheduled live event). After this you can continue onwards from Generating RTMP URL to go live on LinkedIn.
What happens if I stop broadcast from Yostream, but forget to end it on LinkedIn's end?
If you end your stream from Yostream, but don't end it on LinkedIn it will automatically end by itself.
Do I need a new LinkedIn Stream Key and URL for each stream?
Yes, you need a new stream key and URL for each stream on LinkedIn.
Why is my stream not appearing on LinkedIn?
It may be possible you are using an old or incorrect stream key or stream URL. Double check your stream key for typos, or try refreshing LinkedIn and setting up the stream again to generate a new stream key.
Why did my stream to LinkedIn show an error after 4 hours?
LinkedIn currently allows up to 4 hour long live streams.
Is live streaming on LinkedIn free?
No, currently streaming to LinkedIn is only supported from Basic Plan onwards. If you're currently on Free Plan, consider upgrading your Yostream account
