Do it with simplicity.
When you’re connecting account(s) to live streaming software, you’ll see that most of your preferred platforms have already been integrated. In such cases, you simply click the icon of any social media platform and begin streaming in a few clicks. However, beyond this standard option, you can add any destination using the Custom RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol) method. In this tutorial, we’ll learn how to connect your Facebook account to live streaming software along with streaming to Facebook using Custom RTMP.
Note: Connecting an account using Custom RTMP is not available with the Free plan of Yostream. Upgrade your pricing plan to utilize this service.
Before we begin, please read this post and follow the procedures involved from Step 1 to Step 8:
Click Connect Account and select Custom RTMP.
You’ll be asked to provide:
A. Destination name
B. Stream URL
C. Stream Key
Log in to your Facebook account and select your page / profile / group on which you want to go live. Now, click on the status update bar where ‘What’s on your mind?’ is written.
Click on the three horizontal dots.
Click Live video.
You’ll be given two options - either go live instantly or schedule an event for later. In this case, we’ll select go live to stream to Facebook.
Note: If you toggle "Create a test broadcast before going live", you can see your live video on your timeline. However, it'll be visible only to you.
You’ll be asked to select a video source. Click streaming software.
Upon selecting streaming software as your video source, you’ll get your stream key under the streaming software setup.
Below the stream key, click the Advanced settings dropdown to get your Server URL.
Copy the Stream key (Step 7) and Server URL (Step 8) and return to Step 1 to fill in your details. After pasting the Stream key and Server URL, provide a name and click Add destination at the bottom.
Your Facebook page / profile / group has now been added using custom RTMP.
Select your destination and click Start Broadcast to go live on your Facebook page / profile / group.
Now head back over to the Facebook tab. You will see your video being received in the Video section.
Scroll upwards. On the right panel, add post details.
Provide Title and Description, and click Save.
Click Go Live.
Check your timeline. You can see your live video there.
Go back to the Yostream tab and click Stop Broadcast.
Confirm it by clicking Yes, end.
