You have often witnessed many videos in your YouTube feed where viewers stream their gameplay, host a live talk show, or report any incident or event that takes place in real-time. If you’re a content creator and want to stream on YouTube with live streaming software, you need to activate live streaming on YouTube before anything. Let’s follow this guide to understand the steps involved in the activation process:
Type youtube.com in the address bar of your browser and press Enter.
Click ‘Sign In’ on the top-right corner of youtube’s home page.
On the Sign In page, enter your Gmail ID or your registered mobile number and click ‘Next’ at the bottom-right corner.
Enter your Google account password and click ‘Next’ to proceed further.
You can select either of the options to customize your Google account. However, in this case, we’ll skip them and click on ‘Not Now’ at the bottom.
After successfully logging into your YouTube account, click on the camera icon located just before the bell (notification) icon at the top-right corner of the home page.
Click ‘Go live’.
On the Studio page, click ‘Request’ for accessing the service of live streaming on YouTube.
Verify your phone number by clicking ‘Verify’.
After clicking ‘Verify’, the process of phone verification will begin in a new tab. You can receive the verification code either through text message or voice message on your registered mobile number. Choose whichever you like and then select your country and provide your mobile number before clicking ‘Get Code’ at the bottom.
Enter the 6-digit verification code sent by Google on your mobile phone and click ‘SUBMIT’.

Go back to the home page of YouTube and repeat Steps 6 and 7 as mentioned above. A 24-hour countdown clock will let you know how much longer your account needs to be activated for live streaming.
After completion of the 24-hour time slot, you can see that live streaming has been activated on YouTube. You can start streaming immediately or schedule it for later at your convenience.
